About
Christy O Harris is a Somatic Educator and Teacher of The Alexander Technique. In 2025, she founded Studio Treehouse- a place to inquire within and explore our human movement potential. Her teaching methodology is characterized by anatomical mapping, hands-on guidance with verbal cues, repetition, refined simplicity, and spontaneous discovery and response.
Christy received a Master of Fine Arts in Dance, Somatics and the Alexander Technique from University of Colorado at Boulder, and served as adjunct faculty in the Movement Studies department at Naropa University and CU-Boulder from 1998-2008 until relocating to Kauai, Hawaii. A dedicated student of Rinzai Zen meditation and Yang style Tai Chi, she completed yoga certifications in 2016 and 2023, and has developed a somatic approach to yoga and restorative stretching. Christy maintains a private practice teaching Alexander Technique in Honolulu, HI and offers weekly group classes at the Studio Treehouse.
